Combine Lawn Aeration and Lawn Fertilizing For A Healthy Lawn

We all love having a beautiful lawn. Yet, with the pressures of the day and the lifestyles we live, it gets so difficult trying to keep up with all the tasks involved in caring for a lawn. In the spring and fall there is aerating, fertilizing, and of course the need to startup and then winterize/blowout the sprinklers. All of these tasks require time that we just don’t have all the time. It all just eats up our evenings and weekends and that doesn’t even include the time spent edging and mowing.

Speaking of aerating, it is normally a good idea to do it in both the spring and the fall. What it does is pull out plugs of dirt, drop the plugs on the top, and allow for air, roots, fertilizer (if you do your fertilizing at the same time as aeration), and much more to get down into the soil where the roots of the grass need it the most. You can also maximize your investment in fertilizer and seeds by doing them just after an aeration.

Sprinkler systems must be blown out before cold winter weather sets in. This is one of the most difficult activities for a homeowner to “do it yourself.” Compressed air is used, after all but one of the valves are closed off, to clear out any water in the system so that it can’t freeze when the temperature drops. Mistakes during sprinkler system blowout can result in burst pipes, leading to expensive repairs.

September, October, and November are filled with school and family activities that are important. Lawn care can take up much of a homeowner’s time in the autumn. Fortunately, lawn care companies can step in and provide all of these services so that busy homeowners are able to spend all that time doing the things they love to do instead of toiling in their yards. Choosing a lawn care service is one of the most important decisions a homeowner can make. It is not only the beauty of your lawn that it is at stake, but its health as well.

Hopefully you can enjoy the fall and not spend too much time caring for your lawn. To help that happen, you should consider hiring a company to do the lawn aeration, lawn fertilizing, and sprinkler blowout. By ordering them together you save money and get the best value for your money (your fertilizer will do better if applied after an aeration).
